Jessica meant to come visit last month in 2023 but the holidays were a busy time. I am so glad that even though it was done late, that it was documented and the pictures looked fabulous. Have you ever let something go and you said you were going to do it, but the moment slipped away, and you never got it done.
This sadly happens a lot. Don’t put off documenting something like a milestone. No matter the season that you’re in, take the picture, you look good! Plus, we’re not getting any younger. Don’t try to lose the weight, you’ll just procrastinate and it won’t get done. Plus, I am also an editor and I retouch if needed.
When we began our shoot, I gave her a few tips. Told her to breathe and sit tall when needed. A photographer’s job is to coach you. There were moments when I told her to close her eyes and think of things that make her happy. This helped her to relax, gain confidence and she started to have fun and let go. When you get to that point of trust with the subject, magic just starts to happen and the real you comes through the photos. I even told her to do a fake laugh.
I swear by this! The reaction people have when I ask of this never gets old. The results are always so nice. Try it next time you take a picture for fun!
